Bonjour and welcome back to French.Taxi! Today, I’m excited to share my experience at Botani Face, a unique restaurant/bar that was recommended to me when I was looking for a place to work. Located right next to the municipal swimming pool, Botani Café offers a refreshing and serene atmosphere that immediately stands out.
A Green Haven in the City
As soon as you enter Botani Face, you are greeted by an abundance of flowers, plants, and general vegetation, creating a calm and inviting environment. The greenery sets a perfect backdrop for a relaxing meal or a productive work session. As you move further inside, you’ll be treated to a stunning view of the Rhône River and a 360-degree panorama of the historic Basilic Fourvière.
Popular and Scenic
This place is quite popular, as evidenced by the fact that online reservations for lunch were fully booked. The restaurant boasts a large terrace that overlooks the municipal outdoor swimming pool and offers a magnificent view of the Rhône. It’s an ideal spot for those who appreciate a meal with a view.
Efficient Service and Reasonable Pricing
The service at Botani Face is quick, friendly, and efficient. The pricing is accessible, with a full menu costing around 25 Euros. During my visit, I tried the ceviche as my main meal and potatoes with huancaína sauce, which are typical Peruvian dishes. While the food was decent, I found it a bit bland, possibly due to my recent experience at barraceviche, making the comparison somewhat harsh.
A Spot for Brunch and Work
One of the highlights of Botani Face is their all-you-can-eat brunches organized every Sunday, something I am eager to try.
While I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this restaurant for its food, it certainly has a place in my recommendations for its beautiful views and as a great spot to have a coffee or get some work done.
