Bocuse Original Comptoir

Bocuse Original Comptoir
French Street Food next to the Annecy Lake by Bocuse

Bonjour and welcome back to French.Taxi! Today, I'm excited to share my experience at Bocuse Original Comptoir, a delightful discovery during my stay at Hotel Muse in Annecy. I had tested this concept in Lyon, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it here, promoted by the hotel itself.

Street Food à la Française

Bocuse Original Comptoir offers an alternative to traditional fast food with a unique French twist. Part of the prestigious Bocuse group, it’s conveniently located next to IMRA Brasserie and Hotel Muse, all owned by the Bocuse family. The restaurant features a menu of burgers and basic sandwiches, served with fries or classic Pommes Dauphine, perfect for dining on the terrace or taking away.

A Tasty, Casual Experience

During my visit, I opted for a hot truffle sandwich with Pommes Dauphine and truffle mayonnaise. While it wasn't extraordinary, it was definitely enjoyable. The staff, though clearly junior and new, were effective and likely in training for higher positions within the group. This concept, being more street food than restaurant, doesn’t offer table service or fancy wine, but it does provide flexible hours, ideal for late meals.

Practical Tips

Based on Google reviews, I was initially hesitant, but my experience was positive. If you’re returning from a hike, finding other restaurants closed or full, or seeking an alternative to McDonald's, Bocuse Original Comptoir is worth a try. The terrace offers a view of the lake but is next to the street, so I recommend taking your food to the nearby lake beach for a more pleasant dining experience.
